Medical Equipment or Pharmaceuticals

Sometimes it’s been something simple, like vitamins, syringes or a few pairs of glasses. Other times, it has been a rare medication that had to be shipped overseas. And from time to time it’s been large equipment, like a laser for cataract surgery or an ultrasound for a Maternity Hospital. Since its inception in 1999, we have provided our host communities and individuals with pharmaceuticals and medical equipment valued at over $1,000,000.

Even today, resources in the Former Soviet Union are extremely limited. Local hospitals often lack sufficient basic items like pillows, linens, IV bags, sterile gloves, diagnostic equipment, surgical equipment and medication. Individuals requiring surgery often need to pre-purchase items such as medication and IV bags, as well as arrange for someone to bring them food during their hospital stay. Through the donation of equipment and durable medical goods, JHI has not only improved the quality of care available at local hospitals and clinics, but has also helped individuals in the local Jewish community gain access to otherwise unavailable medical care.

JHI relies on monetary contributions, in addition to donations of equipment and pharmaceuticals, to help hospitals, clinics, and individual patients in the communities we serve have access to up to date healthcare care.

While we welcome the donation of medical equipment, durable medical goods, and pharmaceuticals; please understand that JHI can only accept donations of equipment and goods that have been requested by the communities we serve.

All donations will only be accepted with prior approval from the Medical Director of JHI. If you would like to make a donation, please call 678-222-3722 or email our Medical Director at: JHI@jfga.org.
