A Different Type of Mission
Volunteers in Israel: A different type of mission
JHI’s Volunteers in Israel program gives American healthcare professionals the opportunity to volunteer at an Israeli hospital or medical institution. JHI identifies a host institution with a need for a particular medical specialty and works with the hospital’s medical director to develop a program that meets the needs of the individual volunteer. JHI makes all necessary arrangements for the assignment including securing temporary licensure when necessary, confirming volunteer assignments dates and making all necessary introductions. Assignment length varies according to hospital and volunteer needs.
Volunteers are responsible for their air and ground transportation, housing and living expenses (often hospitals provide subsidized accommodations for volunteers). Volunteers also pay JHI a small administrative fee.
